Day trading with Sparkling, spot, perps and events in one place
Day traders spend much of their time on mechanics: switching apps, moving funds, calculating sizes. Sparkling takes that part over. You describe each trade in a sentence and see the cost and risk on one card, whether it is a quick spot swap, a perp position or a short-term event.
How to start day trading
- Pick one market you understand, such as BTC or SOL, rather than many.
- Set a daily loss limit and a maximum size per trade before you begin.
- Start with spot trades; add perps only once you understand liquidation.
- Write down why you enter and exit each trade.
- Review your history weekly and drop what doesn’t work.
Leveraged positions, the tool many day traders reach for, are explained on our page about perpetual futures.
Day trading rules for stocks and crypto
Rules depend on the market and the country. In the US, the pattern day trader rule with its 25,000 dollar minimum was eliminated by an SEC approval in April 2026, and brokers are phasing in new intraday margin standards through October 2027. Crypto markets never had that rule, but leverage for retail users is restricted in several regions, and day trading gains are taxable almost everywhere.

How much money do you need to start day trading?
In crypto there is no legal minimum; you can trade a few dollars. The practical minimum is the amount where fees stop dominating results: on Solana that is very small, on Ethereum larger because of gas. Many beginners start with an amount they could lose entirely without changing their plans.

Is day trading legal and is it profitable?
Day trading is legal in most countries, but research consistently finds that most individual day traders lose money over time, largely to fees and poor timing. Treat it as a high-risk activity. Sparkling app gives you the numbers on every trade, but no tool makes short-term trading safe, and nothing here is investment advice.
